American          Apple-Nut-pie

Ingredients

Instructions

Dough 

Add the flour, butter, egg, 100g sugar and a pinch of salt to a bowl and mix using a stand or hand-held mixer until it forms a smooth dough. Chill the dough in the fridge for approximately 30 minutes before you start shaping the dough. Once chilled, use two-thirds of the dough to cover the bottom of the die dish. The remaining third will be used as a lid for the cake.

Fruit Preparation 

Peel, core and quarter the apples before cutting them into thin slices. Mix the apples, hazelnuts, 50g sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice in a bowl. Add the fruit mix to the pie and cover it using the remaining third. Poke holes into the dough for ventilation.

Decoration 

Decorate the cooled cake with powdered sugar
